With winter on its way, it’s the time to nurture your body with warm nourishing foods.

Sweet potatoes make more than great tasting pie! Thanks to a hefty dose of vitamin A, sweet potatoes are a great food for glowing skin. Sweet potatoes will help your skin lock in moisture, maintain a healthy glow, and protect it from cold-weather damage. In fact 1 cup of mashed sweet potato contains 123% the recommended dietary allowance of Beta-Carotene, which the human body converts to Vitamin A.

Sweet potatoes are also rich in vitamin C and Vitamin E, both of which are crucial for keeping skin healthy, glowing and supple by combating free radicals and supporting cellular structures of the skin. Purple sweet potato also has high levels of beta-carotene, and is a rich source of anthocyanins which helps to prevent blemishes and dark spots by keeping free radical activity in control.

Sweet potatoes are a must in your diet for glowing skin, but are also highly nutritious and beneficial to our overall health, containing loads of fibre, and being high in Vitamin B6, Manganese and Potassium.
