Coolsculpting treatments have become a well-known treatment, not just in Brisbane but around the world.
When people come to us for fat freezing as a body shaping treatment at our clinic in Brisbane, the majority of our clients’ minds jump to coolsculpting – and that’s NOT what we do! Here at CBB BLVD, we use Cryo T-Shock, a non-invasive fat reduction treatment that uses thermal shock and cryotherapy to naturally destroy fat cells without damaging the skin.
How Our Cryo T-Shock Treatments Work
With our Cryo T-Shock treatment, the fat cells that are broken down naturally flush out through the bloodstream and then the lymphatic system within days or weeks following the treatment. This treatment uses a wand-like applicator coated with gel that’s safe and comfortable for all skin types. Cryo T-Shock is a painless, non-surgical alternative to other body contouring and fat removal treatments on the market.
There are generally no side effects with cryotherapy, however it can sometimes leave you with temporary numbness, tingling or redness.
Coolsculpting, on the other hand, uses a completely different applicator head. While there are many great success stories with Coolsculpting, on rare occasions, the applicator can cause Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH), or a ‘stick of butter’ effect. Coolsculpting works by placing a roll of fat into a device that features two panels that cool the fat to a freezing temperature. On occasion though, tissue is sucked up into the device, and instead of gradually shrinking, the fat cells increase in volume in response to the cold, forming a “pouch” that resembles the shape of the device’s applicator and hardening. We’ve actually corrected many “pouches” as a result of poorly executed Coolsculpting treatments. Other downsides to Coolsculpting include a sensation of tugging or pulling throughout the entire treatment process as well as temporary redness, bruising and swelling.
