Did you know that between and 80 and 90% of adults experience cellulite at some point in their lives? It’s more common for women to have cellulite than men, and while gender, genetics and lifestyle may play a part, there is no specific body type or weight will make you more likely to have it. It’s a natural part of being a human rather than a medical condition; cellulite cannot be “cured”, however there are ways to reduce the severity of it. One very effective and hugely popular cellulite treatment is the Guinot Slimming Anti-Cellulite treatment.

What is Cellulite?

First, it’s important to understand what cellulite actually is and how it forms. Cellulite involves the interactions between fatty tissue and fibrous connective tissue that lies beneath the surface of the skin. When the fatty tissue expands in size, it pushes through the connective tissue, particularly areas with very little tissue, creating uneven skin dimples.

Women are more susceptible to getting cellulite because of the way our bodies are built.
The make up of our connective tissue is also different to men. Men’s connective tissue tends to be stronger and more interwoven, whereas women’s connective tissue tends to be weaker and not as tightly formed, leaving more spaces for fatty tissue to come through.

What Causes it?

How cellulite develops and what causes it is still not entirely clear. But there are several factors believed to be involved.

Hormones play a role in cellulite appearance. One theory is that when estrogen decreases as women approach menopause, so does the blood flow to the connective tissue under the skin, meaning the chances of fatty tissue pushing through are higher.

As we age, cellulite can also become more visible, as the skin is thinner and loses its elasticity.

Dietary factors may also contribute; eating too much saturated fats, carbohydrates and salt, and very little fibre, may increase the appearance of cellulite.

Genetic factors such as distribution of fat under the skin and metabolism speed may also affect your chances of developing cellulite.

Our Cellulite Treatment

Of course, an active lifestyle and healthy diet will help to minimise the appearance of some cellulite, but for moderate to severe cellulite or that sticks around one you’ve made healthy changes, or for targeting stubborn areas, your best approach is to try a tailored cellulite treatment.

Here at CBB BLVD, the Guinot Slimming Anti-Cellulite (Technispa) treatment is ideal for eliminating stored fat and smoothing the skin. Guinot is a revolutionary brand known for its industry-leading skincare methods and treatments, including Technispa, Hydradermie Lift and Eye Contour.

This advanced cellulite treatment consists of three specific actions for visible results. The double lip-dermo aspiration aids in the break down and elimination of cellulite through a double knead and roll movement. The Anti-Cellulite Slimming Actiserum, a concentration of natural active ingredients that work to eliminate cellulite, is then applied to the skin. These active ingredients are then penetrated deep into the skin with the heated sculptor. Heat diffusion assists in dissolving the fat and stimulating the lymphatic system (your body’s drainage system) to eliminate unwanted toxins and smooth out the skin.
